Text Box: Hello Parents,

We’ve got lots of exciting things planned the month of July. For the week of the 4th, we will be creating all sorts of red, white, and blue items including Patriotic Popcorn Balls! Yum, yum! Don’t forget the center will be closed on Friday July 4th for the holiday. During the month of July we will also learn about circus animals and clowns. We will do a graph focusing on how each child arrives to school each day during our transportation week. The children will be singing one of our favorite songs during the week…”The Wheels on the Bus.” Hope you don’t get tired of hearing the song, but we all know children learn by repetition. Stay tuned for more details about our class picnic during the last week of the month. We might even have some little visitors come and join us.
Special things to remember:

Check your child’s folder daily, but bring it
back so we can update the items each day.

Please remember to keep toys from home at home.
They cause problems when it comes to sharing.
They may also end up lost in the classroom.

                                               Have A Great July

Text Box: Building with blocks is lots of fun. It teaches many skills that children will use later in life. One study found that many of the concepts learned from block building are the foundations for more advanced science comprehension.

Playing in the block center helps children to experiment and learn about gravity, stability, weight balance, and systems. This learning center encourages children to use both fine and gross motor skills/muscles as they classify by shape, size and color. Additionally, children are able to explore concepts of depth, height, measurement, symmetry, and mapping. Language skills are enhanced as children talk about how to build and what to build. As children increase their language skills they foster competence and self-esteem. Building blocks teaches cooperation and respect for the work of others.
